Space Pride is an international charity dedicated to celebrating our vibrant LGBTQIA+ community in the global space sector.

Our team

Franco Labia (they/them) – Founder and President. PhD Researcher, Bristol Robotics Laboratory; Youngest Committee Member of the World’s first Sustainability in Robotics Standard, BSI; Experienced in activism spheres – founded a Ukrainian fundraising campaign that brought together a fusion of art, culture, and film to support the Ukrainian community; created and ran a community-based campaign that led to the first African and black Board of Trustees representative being elected at the International Space University, a prestigious space organization which previously had Arthur C Clarke as president.

Matylda Berus (she/her) – Vice President and External Relations Director. LL.M. candidate, Leiden University; former President of the Research Group in Aviation Law AVION at Lazarski University; former Vice-President in charge of Seminars and Conferences, European Law Students’ Association ELSA Warszawa; organiser of the 1st International Conference on Space and Telecommunications Law, and International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems ICUAS ‘23.

Scott Scoular (he/him) – Legal Coordinator. Undergraduate in Law at the University of Oxford; Lincoln College Law Society Co-President; Prospero Fellow; ECSL alumni 2022 and current member; co- founder of his high school’s Intersectional Student Union. Current intern at Avanti Communications.

Naveed Moeed (he/him) – Treasurer. Ph.D. in Physics, University of Kent (Lagrangian points of the Earth-Moon system). He has continued to study and research this particular area using data from infra-red survey missions. For the last two decades he has mostly worked in the field of partnerships and business development in the high-tech sector in Europe, the Middle East and the US. Consulting scientist for Willis Observatory in Mitchell County, North Carolina. Board member for Thee Quaker Project. Member of the American Theatre Critics Association (on their Membership committee) and a semi-professional photographer.

Delphine Urbah (she/her) – External Relations Director. MA in International Relations and Social Studies. Paris-PSL EPHE; founder and CEO, OLYMPE – Orbital Luxe, yielding memorable personal experiences for tourists in outer space. Previously worked at ESA DG’s Cabinet in member state relations, at CNRS in the political archives of CNES, and at the OECD as a consultant, gaining valuable knowledge in intergovernmental matters in the space sector.

Rania Djojosugito (she/her) – Social Media and Communications Director. PhD candidate in Space Law at the University of Edinburgh and previous teacher’s assistant in space law; 2 years as head of marketing and committee member with the UNICEF Amsterdam student team. Current intern at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.

Khushi Shah (she/they) – Creative Director. Mechanical Engineer; Offsite Industrial Design Cohort; AIAA ASCEND Diverse Dozen 2022; SGAC Asia Pacific Regional Communications Manager; Co-leader at The Climate Clock Project. Experienced in visual communication, community outreach and engagement, brand strategy

Raoul Cardellini (they/them) – Research Director. Adv. LL.M. candidate at Leiden University, with a Master’s in Law, one in European Legal Studies and one in Space Institutions and Policies; Former Visiting Researcher at Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, Leiden University and Free University Berlin, current Intern at Space Commerce Matters.
