An Out of this World Pride Parade
Why?
The Space Pride Fashion Gala is where outer space meets pride parade – a fusion of art, culture and technology. It is an exciting event that highlights the themes of diversity, empowerment, innovation and breaking boundaries by blending elements of the space sector and the diverse identities within the LGBTQ+ community.
The event aims to showcase fashion as a medium for self-expression, inclusivity, explorationof identity, and passion for space. The gala will bring together fashion designers, engineers, scientists, artists, space enthusiasts, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to create a unique experience. It not only hopes to bring to the stage a multicultural, engaging, and fun event but also offers everyone the excuse to dress up in their finest colourful space outfit! It will be hosted at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), the largest space conference in the world, in October 2024 in Milan.
The Purpose and Vision Behind the Space Pride Fashion Gala:
- The vision is to celebrate the queer community, Ubuntu and humanities diversity. “We Are All Made of Star Dust”
- To create a joyful protest through new and innovative technofashion with a queer theme.
- Create something truly beautiful, an immersive experience which transports the audience into another realm of human connection, hope and possibility.
